Our wooden spirit houses and wooden Buddha statues are hand-carved in Northern Thailand. Spirit houses are made from reclaimed teak in the Lanna shrine tradition of the san phra phum: miniature houses for the guardian spirit of a place, with multi-tiered roofs, curved eaves and, on some pieces, Naga guardians. Buddha statues are carved from teak or sacred jackfruit wood in meditating, standing and reclining poses.
Spirit houses are made to order in our artisan workshop and ship directly from Thailand. The wood is aged and durable; carving, proportions and finish vary slightly from piece to piece because they are worked by hand, not moulded.
They can stand as a home altar, a meditation focus or as sculptural décor. The forms remain those of living Lanna craft — a shrine for the spirit of the land, and a Buddha image for a quiet place in the home.
This serene reclining Buddha statue, expertly hand-carved from premium jackfruit wood (mai khanun) by skilled artisans in northern Thailand, captures the essence of traditional Lanna-style meditation.
A timeless piece for mindfulness spaces, altars, or home décor, bringing peace and authentic Lanna craftsmanship to your collection.
